Covid-19: Four localities in Sabah among nine to be placed under EMCO until Aug 18, says Hisham

PETALING JAYA: Four localities in Sabah are among nine areas that will be placed under new enhanced MCOs, says Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

The Senior Minister, in his daily press statement Tuesday (Aug 3), said that Kampung Banjar, Kem 3 Sibulu, Penampang Baru and the Tawau immigration depot have been placed under an enhanced MCO until Aug 18.

Three localities in Terengganu, and two in Pahang have also been placed under enhanced MCOs ending on the same date.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister said the enhanced MCO at Kampung Bintawa Hilir in Kuching, Sarawak, has been extended to Aug 17.

On compliance enforcement, a total of 60 premises were ordered to close on Monday (Aug 2), following spot checks by the authorities.

The authorities also issued compound notices to 215 people.

Under Ops Benteng, 28 illegal immigrants have been arrested, with three vehicles seized, Hishammuddin said.
