King to decide on next MACC chief commissioner

KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, will personally decide on the appointment of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner.

In a statement on Thursday (April 23), His Majesty said there is no need for any party to politicise the matter.

The King stressed that the post is crucial in ensuring that the MACC continues to function effectively as the country’s primary institution in combating corruption, abuse of power and misconduct.

"I will determine the most suitable candidate to lead the MACC going forward," he said in a statement to the Royal Press Office (RPO).
