#BeMyHero comes to the aid of people, SMEs

Working together: CRSM launching the project during a Zoom meeting yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: The Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) has launched the GoCare #BeMyHero Community Caring Project which will provide the public and SMEs with various forms of aid including free tuition and soft loans.

The project is an initiative of GoCare in collaboration with more than 5,000 community volunteers and 100 businesses across the country.

Deputy International and Trade Industry Minister Datuk Lim Ban Hong said the aid will come in various forms depending on the need: dry food packs for needy families, arranging vaccinations for patients with chronic diseases, personal protective equipment for poor families, and online classes for students.

He said other forms included providing cooperative education for workers, full- and part-time job opportunities for the unemployed, and low-interest loans and free transformation consultation for SMEs (small and medium enterprises).

“The services provided by CRSM in supporting and helping those affected are done voluntarily and it is certainly a shot in the arm during trying times like this,” he said when launching the project on Facebook Live yesterday.

Also at the launch were CRSM national chief Datuk Lim Chong Ly, MCA Perlis Youth chairman Ng Sing Phing, and GoCare programme manager Xilas Ngang.

Lim also urged members of the public to participate in CRSM’s volunteer programmes and called on charitable people in the community to donate generously and dedicate more energy to Malaysia.

“Let’s work together. United as one, we will definitely be able to overcome this pandemic,” he said.

Ng described the GoCare #BeMyHero project as comprehensive support for society and the business community, while also urging the public to volunteer, saying the Covid-19 pandemic affects everyone.

GoCare is an initiative under CRSM to assist underprivileged groups and individuals through charity fundraising from the public.

Those interested to donate or volunteer to GoCare’s initiative can do so at its website at gocare.org.my, while individuals or SMEs affected by Covid-19 can also reach out for help by filling out a form at the website.
