Selangor police have issued over 2,000 compound notices for MCO violations since June 1

SHAH ALAM: Selangor police have issued 2,251 compound notices for various standard operating procedure violations since the lockdown was enforced on June 1.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the highest number of offences was for not observing physical distancing, with 541 compound notices issued.

"This was followed by not wearing face masks with 523, while failure to register before entering a premise saw 238 compound notices issued," he said on Monday (June 14).

Comm Arjunaidi added that police also noticed that the level of compliance among the people in Selangor was good.

"However, there is a small portion who are still taking things for granted and flouting SOPs.

"Wearing a face mask and observing physical distancing should be second nature by now, but there are still some who refuse to comply.

"We have also noticed some do not wear face masks properly. This has to stop if we want to properly combat the virus," he said.
