Wisma Putra tracking Ebit Lew in Gaza

PETALING JAYA: The Foreign Ministry is getting the latest developments on the religious preacher, Ebit Lew who is in Gaza on a humanitarian mission.

According to Sinar Harian on Saturday (June 12), Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaafar said the ministry is checking on the date of the preacher's return flight to the country.

"We are checking (the development of Ebit)," he said.

On May 25, Ebit Lew left for Egypt for a humanitarian aid mission to deliver donations to Palestinians affected by the Israeli attack.

Kamarudin in a statement on May 26 said that the humanitarian mission for Palestinians planned by the delegates led by Ebit Lew, whose real name is Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, had travel approval and was subject to current standard operating procedures (SOP).

He said Ebit had made all preparations himself through close cooperation with NGO partners in Egypt.

However, Ebit’s absence from social media ever since leaving for Egypt has caused concern for many Malaysians, especially his followers.

On Thursday (June 10), rapper Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, said that Ebit was doing well after he was successfully contacted via WhatsApp.
