Warisan: Social media post supporting Hishammuddin as PM is fake

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah denies that it has issued a joint statement with PAS backing a senior Umno leader as the next prime minister.

Its secretary-general Datuk Loretto Padua said the social media post that went viral that the party would support Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein as the new premier was fake.

"Warisan vehemently denies this, which we see as slander," he said in a statement on Friday (June 11).

The fake posting also forged his signature as a representative of the political party.

In the purported joint statement dated June 11, the document was also undersigned by PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.

"I have never agreed to or signed anything, either as a Warisan representative or on personal capacity, on muafakat with PAS to support any individual as the next prime minister.

"Warisan is not involved in this. This is done by those obsessed with power to slander and to the extent of faking my signature," he said.

Padua said he would lodge a police report after discussing the matter with his lawyer.
