IPOH: An 11-year-old boy was allegedly physically assaulted by his teacher at a school in Pengkalan Hulu.
Insurance agent Mohd Azmil Shaharuddin, 39, said his son was hit on the head several times, pushed to the floor by the teacher last Wednesday (Sept 23) and suffered a bruised toe on his left foot from the ordeal.
"My son told me he was accused of using inappropriate language but was cleared of wrongdoing because the pupil who was at fault admitted to it," he said when contacted on Friday.
"The teacher did not even investigate properly and started to hit my son. He did not even apologise," he added.
Mohd Azmil said he lodged a police report on the incident on Thursday (Oct 1).
"I want the police and the relevant authorities to take the necessary actions on this matter," he said.
When contacted, Pengkalan Hulu OCPD Superintendent Zulkepli Ibrahim confirmed the incident.
He said the police report has been received, with investigations now ongoing.
"The investigations will be done according to procedure as it involves a civil servant," he said.
Perak education committee chairman Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hanipah has been reached for comments.
