Covid-19: 1,139 new cases, four fatalities bring death toll to 1,304

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,139 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (April 7), bringing the cumulative total to 354,468.

Sarawak still tops the list in the number of infections with 332 cases, followed by Selangor with 294 cases and Johor with 102 cases.

In the same 24-hour period, there were four fatalities, bringing the death toll to 1,304.

Of the four deaths, two of the fatalities were in Sarawak and there was one death each in Kuala Lumpur and Johor.

They were all Malaysians aged between 61 and 87.

In his daily update on the pandemic, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said there were a total of 1,199 recoveries.

This means that there are still 14,097 active cases in the country, of which 194 cases require treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while 86 cases need ventilator support.
