KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth wants party members to reject “hypocrites” who have forgotten the party’s struggles in the next party polls, says Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
The Umno Youth chief said members should not only remain loyal when they have positions but also when they are facing challenges and hardship.
"Umno Youth remains firm and urges the party's leadership not to give any face to these groups.
"Do not give them any front line positions to represent the party. Umno members should reject all these hypocritical characters in the next party polls," he said in his policy speech to loud cheers among delegates at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on Saturday (March 27).
Asyraf also wants the Perikatan Nasional government to drop all the policies introduced during the previous Pakatan Harapan government.
"Pemuda wants to ask, what has happened to the calls made by the rakyat to form a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to probe all the allegations of wrongdoings and abuse in Tabung Haji.
"What is the prosecution status and where is justice for the late Adib Kassim, the fireman who was murdered as revealed by its inquest," asked Asyraf.
"How about the status of other cases and investigation into the leaders of Pakatan including those that had been dropped or withdrawn such as the bungalow and the tunnel case linked to Lim Guan Eng (DAP secretary-general), or the case of DAP state assemblymen involving terror activities linked to the defunct Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), or the rape case of a former DAP state assemblyman in Perak and the rest," he said.
Asyraf also asked if the government would also remain quiet on the calls for an RCI to probe allegations made by former attorney general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas in his recent memoir, allegedly exposing elements of selective prosecution against certain individuals.
"All the weaknesses by the Pakatan government should not be kept quiet, as we will also be linked to it.
"Unless we are willing to allow the perception that Pakatan has become part of Perikatan," he added.
Asyraf also warned not to use the excuse of unity of the ummah to defend such weaknesses.
"Do not hide behind the slogan of 'No Anwar, No DAP' to hide the private agenda to defend their positions. Do not repeat the characteristics of Pakatan that only knows how to make promises," he said.
"If Perikatan is truly an agent of change, why are all the Pakatan government policies that we fought all this while, still continued.
"Where is the justice towards Umno leaders who were charged with allegedly receiving funding from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), but the other traitors that receive similar funding are not charged, and become 'clean' when they hop to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), with some appointed as ministers now," said Asyraf.
