KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Umno is fully supportive of the party’s stance to cut ties with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and to not seek cooperation with PKR and DAP, says Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.
“The Umno supreme council had decided that the party will not have any cooperation with Bersatu in the next general election.
“I would like to emphasise here that Wanita Umno supports the decision, which is ‘no DAP, no PKR’ and to withdraw support for Bersatu as soon as the election is called.
“Umno and Bersatu may be sharing the same pillow, but they have different dreams. The two have too many clashes in terms of interests. That is why it is difficult for both to cooperate in the next general election.
“This decision may cause many political implications for the Malays. However, Wanita Umno feels we must stick with the decisions made by the party leadership and grassroots, ” said Noraini in her policy speech at the Wanita Umno assembly on Saturday (March 27).
Noraini said Umno must return to its days of political dominance in the country and to also stay away from political “traitors”.
“Wanita Umno insists that the party leadership stays firm in ensuring that Umno dominates.
“For the well-being of the people, it is vital for this ‘sacred’ party to be in charge. Stop allowing all the hard work of Wanita and the party machinery to go to waste by giving our seats to traitors.
“Many parties want to court Umno. But Umno must only work with those who can accept the party’s philosophy and struggle, ” said Noraini.
The Umno general assembly is being held at the Putra World Trade Centre on March 27 and 28.
