JOHOR BARU: More than 1,000 illegal foreign fishing boats have been seized since 2006 for encroaching into Malaysian waters and exploiting the maritime resources here.
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director-general Maritime Admiral Datuk Mohd Zubil Mat Som said a number of the boats have also been disposed of by sinking them.
