KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia condemns the continuing attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, which have resulted in deaths and injuries among UN personnel.

According to a statement by Wisma Putra on Sunday (April 5), the latest incident on April 3 in El Addaiseh injured three Indonesian peacekeepers.

“This attack is a serious violation of international law, and those responsible must be held to account,” the statement said.

The statement also called on all parties to ensure the safety of UN personnel and stressed the inviolability of the UN Mission.

“Malaysia urges the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take firm action, including ensuring the immediate protection of UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon,” the Foreign Ministry said.
