‘No milk shortage, only plastic bottles’

PETALING JAYA: There is no shortage of milk, only a temporary disruption in plastic bottle production, says a leading homegrown dairy producer.

When contacted, a Farm Fresh spokesperson clarified that only its two-litre bottled fresh milk is affected.

“There is no shortage of milk, only a lack of high-density polyethylene resin used in our plastic bottles.

“We are increasing production using gable-top paper carton packaging instead. The shortage of plastic resin is due to the Middle East conflict. The switch to paper carton packaging will not result in any price increase.”

Farm Fresh was responding to a TikTok post claiming that the company was facing a shortage of supply and that its fresh milk products were unavailable in supermarkets.
