PUTRAJAYA: The movement control order placed on the Nabawan district in Sabah will be extended for another 14 days effective March 17, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the Sabah government had placed the district under MCO which was scheduled to end on Tuesday (March 16).

To date, health authorities have screened 3,079 individuals and cumulatively, 279 Covid-19 cases were reported.

Ismail Sabri said the Health Ministry is still waiting for the results of another 872 samples.

“After carrying out a risk assessment on the situation in Nabawan, the government has agreed to extend the MCO until March 30, ” he said on Monday (March 15).

Last week, the government extended the enhanced MCO placed on two villages in the district following the emergence of new Covid-19 cases there.
