PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government has agreed to raise the e-Invoice exemption threshold from RM1mil to RM3mil.
Anwar said this means businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with annual sales of no more than RM3mil will not be required to implement e-Invoice.
“We have agreed to raise the e-Invoice exemption threshold from RM1mil to RM3mil,” he said.
He said the move was aimed at easing the compliance burden on smaller businesses as they continue to adapt to the government’s digitalisation initiatives.
Anwar announced the measure during his National Day 2026 address at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here on Sunday (Aug 30).
