Perak PKR No. 2 called in by MACC

IPOH: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has called in Perak PKR deputy chairman M.A. Tinagaran over a development project in the state.

The party’s state chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak confirmed on Tuesday (Feb 16) that his deputy was summoned by the MACC, but did not elaborate.

At 7pm it was still unclear if Tinagaran was still in custody or if he had been released, with confirmation sought from the MACC.

Farhash said he was told earlier in the day Tinagaran had been called in to help the MACC in its investigation.

“I hope all parties will remain calm, and not make any assumptions.

“The investigation, I hope, will be conducted transparently, and the legal process will proceed smoothly without any intervention, ” he added.
