PETALING JAYA: A total of 596 individuals were nabbed for defying the movement control order (MCO) on Monday (Feb 15), says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).
He said 532 people were issued compounds for various violations while 64 were remanded.
Among the violations committed were not adhering to physical distancing (155), crossing state or district borders without permission (134), not wearing face masks (121), failure to provide entry log equipment (83), and premises that were operating beyond allowed time (17).
The task force monitoring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) which is led by the police conducted 64,436 checks all over the country on Monday, the minister told a press conference on Tuesday (Feb 16).
Ismail Sabri also said that under Ops Benteng, one undocumented immigrant and two smugglers were detained while two vehicles were seized.
He added that 111 vessels were detected in the country’s waters.
