Cheras gang fight due to drug turf war, say police

KAJANG: A drug turf war between rival gangs left two men seriously injured at Taman Juara Jaya, Batu 9, Cheras.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat (pic) said they conducted an Ops Cantas sweep following the incident on Sunday and arrested 10 men.

“The incident was because of a drug turf war.

“We believe Gang 08 Sungai Besi Indah, Serdang, led by Sara 08 and his right-hand man Rajie 5000, was involved in the clash with Gang 36 Bukit Belimbing, Kajang, led by a man named Tan of Chinese and Indian descent, ” he said.

The operation was conducted by Selangor CID with their counterparts in Kajang and Serdang.

“We have identified several other individuals to assist in our investigations, ” he said.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said they received a distress call about a fight at 6.37pm.

“We were informed that a group of men armed with parang was fighting. Two victims were rushed to hospital after suffering multiple injuries, ” he said.

Police believe three cars were abandoned by the suspects and victims at the scene.

Meanwhile, a 44-second viral video of the incident shows a group of armed men fleeing the scene and getting into vehicles.

A black pickup truck is then seen ramming into a white car before ramming into a red car.

A man can then be heard shouting to witnesses warning them against taking pictures.

Those with information on the case should contact Asst Supt Mohd Radzee Jamudi at 019-665 5811.
