Johor MB office temporarily closed


JOHOR BARU: The Johor Mentri Besar Office, which is located at the state administrative capital of Kota Iskandar here, will be temporarily closed from today until Feb 2 following a Covid-19 case.

In a statement, it said the closure was to facilitate cleaning and sanitisation works to prevent a spread in Covid-19 infections.

Following the temporary closure, all appointments will be postponed to a later date. Those who have important affairs with the office should contact the relevant officers pertaining to their matter.

The state government also urged the people to always adhere to the standard operating procedure in order to fight the pandemic.

These measures include wearing face masks, handwashing and to stay at home unless attending to important matters.

This is the second state government office that has to be temporarily closed due to Covid-19.

On Friday, the office of the Kedah Mentri Besar in Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar was ordered to close following a Covid-19 case at a state government department located in the building.

Also closed was the Kedah Integrity and Governance Department till Feb 6 to allow sanitisation work and self-quarantine of all its personnel following confirmation of a positive Covid-19 case among its staff members.
