482 detained for MCO violations on Monday (Jan 25), says Ismail Sabri

PUTRAJAYA: Police arrested 482 individuals for violating various standard operating procedures (SOPs).

This include failure to observe social distancing, not wearing face masks when out in crowded public places and failure to record customers’ details.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said of those arrested on Monday, 444 were compounded and 38 were remanded.

The taskforce monitoring SOP compliance carried out 62,600 checks on Jan 25.

On Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said that three illegal immigrants were arrested and four land vehicles were seized.

“Enforcement authorities sighted the presence of 138 boats in Malaysian waters during seven monitoring and surveillance activities, ” he said.

He also said that more than 7,000 foreign workers were tested for covid-19 on Monday.
