PETALING JAYA: Ikea Damansara will be closed until further notice after Covid-19 infections were detected among their staff members and service partners.
The positive cases were found following one of its scheduled routine tests.
Ikea Damansara said its management had been advised by the Health Ministry to close their store yesterday, to allow full contact tracing and sanitisation be carried out.
“We will continue to carry out all necessary safety measures, including replacement of service partners’ workers, contact tracing, swab tests, quarantine for all close contacts and sanitisation.
“We are working closely with the authorities and will act on their advice, ” it said in a Facebook post yesterday.
It added that customers who may be close contacts of positive cases at the store will be contacted by public health officials.
“The safety and overall well-being of our customers, co-workers, partners and community is our top priority. We will continue to work closely with public health officials and secure necessary measures across our stores.
“The fight against the pandemic is a shared responsibility. Let’s do our part by following the government’s directions to prevent the further spread of the Covid-19 virus, ” it said.
