No cause for alarm, says palace


PETALING JAYA: The King has been undergoing treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) since Monday, but Malaysians have been told that this is no cause for alarm.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was admitted to the Royal Ward at IJN after he said he was feeling unwell, said Istana Negara in a statement.

The King had been advised to be monitored by doctors but there is no cause for concern or alarm over his condition, ” said Istana Negara’s Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin.

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah who was in Kota Baru on Monday on a personal visit rushed back yesterday to be with the King.

The Queen had cancelled the three-day visit that was scheduled to last until today.

All Malaysians have been urged to pray for the King’s speedy recovery and for his long-term health.
