TANJUNG MALIM: Proton previewed and rolled out its much-awaited X50 B-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV) at its plant here, ahead of its launch expected soon.
It is offered in four variants of Standard, Executive, Premium and Flagship. The vehicle will be equipped with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine.
However, the Flagship variant will get a 1.5-litre turbo gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine which offers higher output. It will also be equipped with advanced driver assistance system, dual-tone exterior and a panoramic sunroof.
Other standard equipment across the range are full LED headlights, rear air-conditioner vents and 4G-connected infotainment system with voice control.
Prices were not announced but the new model is expected to be competitively priced against its Japanese rivals.
Proton has also announced order taking for the X50 from today with a booking fee of RM500. Proton will also be holding roadshows in major towns starting this weekend.
