Security guard killed in steering lock attack at Klang gated community

SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested a man suspected of causing the death of a security guard with a car steering lock in a residential area in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, early Sunday morning (April 5).

Klang Utara district police chief Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said the incident, which occurred at about 1am at a security post in the housing area, began with a dispute between the 40-year-old local suspect and the victim.

"The victim, who sustained injuries from the physical assault, was rushed to Shah Alam Hospital but was pronounced dead at 4.18am. He is believed to have been attacked with a blunt object.

"Acting on information, a team from the Klang Utara district police headquarters (IPD) tracked down and arrested the suspect and seized a car steering lock believed to have been used in the incident," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Vijaya Rao stated that checks on the suspect revealed he has eight previous criminal offences and two drug-related offences. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
