Abandoned crew sent back to Vietnam after being abandoned for almost six months


PETALING JAYA: The 13 Vietnamese seafarers who were stranded on a ship in Malaysian waters in deplorable conditions for almost six months have been repatriated back home on Monday (Sept 14).

The members of the Viet Tin 01 vessel boarded a rescue flight that was arranged by the Vietnamese embassy from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in the afternoon, said the National Union of Seafarers Peninsular Malaysia (NUSPM).
