HANOI/KUALA LUMPUR (VnExpress): Actress Katleen Phan Vo, daughter of Wing Chun grandmaster Nam Anh, held a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony in her husband Yuen Shiuan’s home country, Malaysia on June 20.
It followed a traditional family ceremony held in HCMC on June 6.
Katleen says her husband's family is of Chinese descent, and the bridal procession incorporated several distinctive Chinese customs. The picture shows her wearing an intricately embroidered wedding gown featuring a train that stretches nearly 10 meters.
Katleen posed with her bridesmaids, including model Emma Le, Miss Universe Vietnam runner-up Le Thao Nhi, actress Tam Trieu Dang and model Tu Hao during the wedding. They travelled from Ho Chi Minh City to Malaysia on June 20 to celebrate Katleen’s wedding.

As part of the traditional proceedings, the groom's side is required to meet several challenges set by the bride’s family before the bride is formally welcomed.
Yuen is a businessman born in the 1990s. The two knew each other for three years before deciding to move in together. In June 2025, Katleen accepted his marriage proposal while traveling on a snowy mountain in Canada.
Katleen even bursts into tears during her wedding. "I am so happy to have close friends and colleagues by my side on this joyful day. The wedding was held far away, but everyone made arrangements to be there."
At the wedding, hosted by the groom's family at a five-star hotel, Yuen escorts the bride into the ceremony hall before the couple open champagne together before expressing gratitude to their parents.
On stage, they exchange heartfelt vows. "I love you for what you have done for me and for your effort to become the best version of yourself," Katleen says. The couple also promise to learn from each other, care for one another, and build their marriage with respect and composure.

Katleen, 29, is the daughter of Nam Anh, head of the traditional wing chun school, and Thanh Xuan, who won the 1992 Cinema Beauty Queen title. Wing chun is a traditional Chinese martial art focusing on close-range combat and efficient, direct techniques.
In 2017, Katleen had moved back to Vietnam from Canada to work as an interpreter for Master Flores, a wing chun practitioner who had come to Vietnam for a series of challenge matches and inter-school exchanges. While doing this, she discovered she had a passion for acting and decided to pursue it, though she had originally studied law. Her parents supported her choice to enter the film and entertainment industry.
She became widely known after appearing in "Face Off 4: The Walking Guest" (2019), directed by Ly Hai, which earned VND120 billion (U.S$ 4.7 million) at the box office.
She got her first leading role in the action film "Battle Of The Fists," released in 2021, and also appeared in other projects such as "Naughty Kitchen God" (2019) and "The Thousand Years Predestination" (2021). -- VnExpress
