Slim is just the beginning for Pejuang, says Amir

TANJUNG MALIM: The Slim by-election is only the beginning for the yet-to-be registered Parti Pejuang Tanahair and the people can expect more from the party, says Amir Khusyairi Mohamad Tanusi.

The Independent candidate, who represented Pejuang, secured 2,115 votes but said the results was not bad for a fledgling party.

He said the party would keep on moving. “I would also like to thank everyone, especially my family, our machinery and, of course, Slim voters, ” he said at the Pejuang command centre at Taman Slim Permata near here last night.

Meanwhile, Jerlun MP Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, who is Pejuang president said they were satisfied with the election.

“Satisfied, as we were up against Barisan Nasional with unlimited funding. But we believe the result is extraordinary for an Independent candidate in a by-election, ” he said.
