Northern Sarawak floods worsen, at least 1,000 people affected


MIRI: The flooding in the interior of northern Sarawak has worsened, with at least 1,000 people in the rural Long Panai settlement in the upper Baram district having been cut off from the outside world.

"Long Panai is among the worst hit, with ground contacts saying that there are 129 families totally stranded, ” said Baram Peoples Action Committee chairman Philip Jau on Tuesday (June 30).
