Cops seize over 300 books which allegedly insults Jata Negara


KUALA LUMPUR: Police seized 313 copies of the "Rebirth: Reformasi, Resistance, And Hope In New Malaysia" book during a police raid to assist investigations.

“A team from the classified crime investigation unit raided a company in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday (June 30), and based on investigations, there were around 1,000 books found to have been printed.

“We have obtained the printers' address and a total of 313 copies of the book have been seized, ” Federal CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed (pic) said during a press conference at Bukit Aman.

He added that police would begin calling in people for their statements soon to aid them in their investigations.

“And if they don’t come, we will find them, ” he said.

The book has come under fire due to its cover, which allegedly insulted the "Jata Negara".

Countless netizens have also called for action, claiming the cover of the book insulted the Constitution and the Rukunegara.
