KOTA KINABALU: Technological advancement and access to information must be guided by morality and ethics, said the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah Tun Musa Aman (pic).
In his Maulidur Rasul message on Tuesday (Aug 25), he stressed that modern technology should be used to share knowledge, strengthen unity, and benefit society—rather than as a platform to spread slander, hate, and insults.
“The technological progress we enjoy today must serve as a tool to spread knowledge and bring people together, not disrupt our community's harmony,” he said.
He noted that rapid digital growth presents new challenges in how information is shared and how public narratives are shaped. In light of this, he urged all Malaysians to protect the nation's diversity through mutual respect, understanding, and solidarity.
He also called on Muslims in Sabah to use the Prophet’s birthday celebration as a reminder to deepen their faith and embody the teachings of Islam in daily life.
