Visitors to Taiping Zoo capped at 1,250 at any one time

IPOH: Only 1,250 visitors are allowed to visit the Taiping Zoo and Night Safari at any one time, says the Taiping council president.

Khairil Amir Mohamad Zubir said it was estimated that visitors spent at least two to three hours there.

"We have made the proper preparations according to the standard of procedures (SOP),

"We will take every visitor's body temperature, as well as their details, while using the MySejahtera app.

"Hand sanitisers are provided, and all visitors are advised to put on a face mask when visiting the zoo," he said on Friday (June 12).

On June 9, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the government had agreed to allow zoos to operate from June 10 based on the SOP set.

According to Khairil, visitors must also follow the social distancing rule.

"Let us follow the protocol and SOP provided by the National Security Council," he said.
