DATUK Hans Isaac (pic) is planning to make a comeback to the local entertainment scene following the termination of his contract with the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), reported Harian Metro.
Isaac said he was focused on work while serving as Finas chairman for 13 months, and did not have the time to be involved in acting and theatre performance.
During his Finas stint, he also kept a distance from his friends in the entertainment industry to avoid being accused of cronyism.
“Honestly, I feel relieved after the termination of the (Finas) contract. I miss acting in theatre,” he said.
Isaac also said he was now free to speak up and has opened an official Facebook account to air his views on the industry.
The 49-year-old plans to collaborate again with his friends Datuk Afdlin Shauki and Datuk Awie to hold theatre shows besides producing quality films.
On the newly appointed Finas chairman Zakaria Abd Hamid, Isaac hoped he would quickly learn as he lacked experience in the creative industry.
“I hope he understands the needs of the industry,” he said.
> Seasoned actress Khatijah Tan hoped her son Pierre Andre would end his silent protest in support of poorly paid crew in the entertainment industry, reported Berita Harian.
Khatijah believed nothing much could be achieved via silent protest.
Andre, 35, who became popular after starring in Gol & Gincu in 2005, is keeping a low profile.
Khatijah, 59, said although her son did not express his frustration, as a mother she understood his feelings.
Apart from directing short films and uploading them onto the Andre Brothers YouTube channel, Andre is focusing his attention on his online business.
