PETALING JAYA: The Covid-19 pandemic has forced one of the oldest serving Catholic churches in the region, St Peter’s Church in Melaka, to cancel the traditional centuries-old Good Friday procession.

Among those affected by the cancellation are the 30-member “Irmaos da Igreja” – or Brethren of the Church – from the local Portuguese-Eurasian community who have participated in the procession for over 300 years.
