Police corporal who collapsed at MCO roadblock dies

ALOR SETAR: A police corporal who was on duty during the movement control order died at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah here on Tuesday (March 24) morning.

Mohd Masri Maguni (pic), who was attached to the Kepala Batas police station, died at 5.20am after being admitted at the hospital three days ago.

According to Kota Setar OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rozi Jidin, the 58-year-old Masri collapsed suddenly on Saturday (March 21) at a roadblock in Alor Setar, and was rushed to hospital.

"He died due to high blood pressure," said ACP Mohd Rozi.

He also denied that Masri had contracted Covid-19.

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in the party's online portal, offered his condolences to the family members of the deceased.

"Let us all Malaysians thank those who have greatly sacrificed, especially those at the frontline in the battle against Covid-19.

"Al-fatihah to the late K/pl Masri," he said.
