Lendu or Tanjung Bidara? Assemblymen speculated to be new Melaka CM

MELAKA: Lendu assemblyman Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali or Tanjung Bidara assemblyman Datuk A. R. Ismail Othman are expected to be appointed as the new Chief Minister.

The speculation emerged on Tuesday (Feb 25) morning, after Melaka Barisan Nasional said that it has the support of 16 of the 28 seats in the state assembly, after two assemblymen left Melaka PKR.

On Monday (Feb 24), Paya Rumput assemblyman Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen had left the ruling government, and is believed that another lawmaker has left PKR on Tuesday morning.

All Pakatan Harapan lawmakers had a meeting with Melaka Yang-di Pertua Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob on Monday, while 13 Barisan Nasional lawmakers are expected to meet the Yang-di Pertua on Tuesday (Feb 23) afternoon.
