PETALING JAYA: Farhash Wafa Salvador (pic) has initiated legal action against Muhammed Yusoff Rawther for alleged "slander and subjudice".
Farhash, who is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary, said that this was in connection with what Yusoff alleged on a Facebook page called "Solidariti buat Muhammad Yusoff Rawther" on Dec 4.
"I was previously advised not to comment, to avoid interfering in the police investigation into Yusoff's allegations.
"But after reviewing the transcript of a recent press conference by Yusoff, his statement is slanderous," Farhash claimed in a statement on Friday (Dec 13).
Farhash, who is Perak PKR chairman, added that he has instructed his lawyer to take legal action against Yusoff.
Yusoff, a former research assistant of Anwar's, had lodged a police report in Sentul claiming that the PKR president had sexually assaulted him.
He has been called twice to Bukit Aman to record his statement about the allegations, believed to have happened at Anwar's home in Bukit Segambut in October last year.
Anwar has denied the allegations and had his statement recorded in Bukit Aman on Thursday (Dec 12).
In a statement, Anwar said police, accompanied by his lawyer Ramkarpal Singh, had gone to his house in Bukit Segambut to complete investigations.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman CID D5 (Prosecution and Legal division) principal assistant director Senior Asst Comm Mior Faridalatrash Wahid, when contacted, said police are continuing their investigations into the matter before handing the investigation papers over to the Attorney General's Chambers.
