IPOH: Action should be be taken against Pakatan Harapan MPs who attended a meeting with Opposition MPs at Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali‘s residence in Putrajaya on Monday (Nov 18), says non-governmental organisation, Pro 98 Reformis Perak.
Its chairman Ahmad Shaarani Abdul Khalid said stern action needed to be taken should they fail to explain why they met with Azmin and a number of Barisan Nasional MPs.
“The Pakatan MPs, especially those from PKR, should also be referred to the Pakatan disciplinary board to explain themselves.
“Stern actions should also be taken against them if fail to do so, ” he told reporters when met outside the state secretariat building on Wednesday (Nov 20).
“We feel that they are all traitors to Pakatan and (their action) is unforgivable for the party and the people who gave their mandate.
“We urge Pakatan to expedite its investigations into those involved, ” Shaarani added.
It has been reported that a secret meeting was held on Monday between Azmin and several MPs from Barisan and Pakatan.
Shaarani said Azmin, who is PKR deputy president, should present himself at the PKR’s political bureau meeting on Wednesday (Nov 20) to explain the meeting.
“If he fails to do so, the bureau can refer the matter to the disciplinary board for the next course of action, possibly to sack him.
“We feel that he has tarnished the integrity of the ruling government, ” he said.
Shaarani also urged the Pakatan Presidential Council to have a meeting to confirm PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the person to succeed Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad immediately.
“This is to stop people from second guessing who will be the eighth prime minister, ” he said.
