Small fire breaks out at PWTC currently hosting MATTA Fair

KUALA LUMPUR: A small fire which broke out during the MATTA Fair at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) has been put out by the Fire and Rescue Department.

It is learned that the fire broke out in the kitchen area of Hall 1, triggering the alarms at around 1.30pm on Sunday (Sept 8).

Visitors and exhibitors at the hall were immediately evacuated following heavy smoke. There have been no reports of any casualties.

The MATTA Fair September 2019 is being held from Sept 6 to 8.
