PHNOM PENH: A fire which broke out at the YTC Corporation factory on National Road 4 in Kampong Speu province destroyed a fabric storage building and 150 sewing machines, but all workers were reported safe, with no injuries.
The Kampong Speu Provincial Police Commissariat responded to the blaze at the factory, in Samraong Tong district’s Vorsar village and commune, which broke out at just after 1pm on Monday (Oct 26).
The fire engulfed a 40-by-80-metre brick building, destroying it completely.
Firefighters deployed 10 fire engines and 107 personnel, using a total of 61 truckloads of water to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to other buildings within the factory compound.

It took almost five hours to bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are continuing their investigations, police said.
Sun Mesa, spokesman for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, confirmed that the workers at the factory were all safe and accounted for.
“Worker safety is the ministry’s top priority. Senior ministry officials, together with representatives of the provincial labour department and the National Social Security Fund, arrived at the scene immediately and coordinated with local authorities to facilitate workers’ evacuation from the factory and their safe return home.
"Our workers are safe, and no one was injured,” he said. - The Phnom Penh Post/ANN
