Flash floods sweep away cars in Subang Jaya


PETALING JAYA: A flash flood that hit Subang Jaya caused by heavy rain swept away a few cars along Jalan Persiaran Kewajipan.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Risikin Satiman said the area in front of the Subang Jaya police headquarters was also affected.

"The drain system was unable to cope with the sudden deluge of rain water.

"Traffic policemen were deployed to help control the traffic flow that was congested due to the floods and evening rush hour, " he said when contacted on Thursday (Aug 15).

He added that the situation is under control and the flood was subsiding as of 7pm.

Several videos of cars being swept away by the flood have gone viral on social media following the incident.
