Magistrate's court issues six-day remand order for Haziq, five others


KUALA LUMPUR: The Magistrate's Court here has issued a six-day remand order for Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz until July 20 to assist police investigations into a sex video linked to a minister.

Judge Namirah Hanum Mohamed Albaki issued the remand order Monday (July 15) for Haziq under Section 377B of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Section 377B of the Penal Code carries a sentence of a jail term of a maximum of 20 years and whipping if found guilty; while Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 carries a punishment of a maximum fine of RM50,000 or a jail term not exceeding one year or both if found guilty.

Haziq was remanded along with five other individuals, two of whom are also PKR members.
