Anwar conveys condolences to Bung Moktar’s family

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his condolences to the late Sabah Umno chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin's family.

Anwar also paid tribute to the Kinabatangan MP for his services to the people of Sabah.

"As an old friend, I remember him as a firm, determined and outspoken figure who fought for the interests of the people.

"His services and commitment in the political arena, especially towards the people of Sabah and the country, will continue to be appreciated and etched in our memories," he said in posts made on his social media accounts.

"I pray that his family will be given the strength to face this test, and may his soul be forgiven all his sins and be placed in a special position by His side, Insya-Allah. Al-Fatihah," he added.

Bung Moktar passed away at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu after being admitted for severe lung infection at 1.46am on Friday (Dec 5). He was 66.

He had just been elected as the Lamag assemblyman in the Sabah election on Nov 29.
