PETALING JAYA: Experts believe lasting peace and security on Sabah’s east coast will only occur if current military tactics are combined with sustainable development.
“Make it a more developed area by providing jobs,” said retired Navy Captain and lead researcher at the Malaysian Maritime Institute’s Centre for Maritime Security and Diplomacy, Captain Martin Sebastian. “I saw this in many parts of West Africa, when development was introduced, even rebels became businessmen.”
