Masidi appointed as GRS deputy chairman

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun has been appointed as Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) deputy chairman.

The Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) deputy president, who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister II and Sabah Finance Minister, confirmed the appointment when contacted, saying the decision was made during the GRS supreme council meeting on Tuesday (May 12).

"Yes. We had a GRS supreme council meeting this afternoon," he said briefly.

The four other GRS deputy chairmen are Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, Parti Cinta Sabah president Tan Sri Anifah Aman, Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah president Tan Sri Liew Yun Fah and Liberal Democratic Party president Datuk Chin Su Phin.

PGRS president Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also the Sabah Chief Minister, remains GRS chairman.

Meanwhile, GRS deputy secretary-general Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, who is also the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, has been appointed GRS secretary-general, replacing Masidi.

PGRS secretary-general Razali Razi has, in turn, replaced Armizan as GRS deputy secretary-general.

Lo Su Fui, who is also Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), was appointed GRS treasurer-general after previously serving as the coalition's deputy treasurer-general.

PBS information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, retained his position as GRS information chief.

Previously, United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia resigned as GRS deputy chairman. – Bernama
