Case of contractor found dead in Klang drain classified as sudden death, say cops

KLANG: A local contractor was found dead in a drain on Lorong Hulubalang 10C, Taman Sentosa here on Tuesday (May 12).

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Lim Jit Huey said police received a report from a member of the public regarding the discovery at 1.28pm.

“An ambulance team from Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) Klang later confirmed the victim’s death at the scene at about 2.05pm,” he said in a statement today.

Initial investigations found that the victim, believed to be in his 50s, was an Air Selangor contractor carrying out work in the nearby area.

The body was sent to the HTAR Forensic Department for a post-mortem.

“A preliminary examination identified the cause of death as ischaemic heart disease due to atherosclerosis,” he said.

He added that the case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR).

Police also advised the public against making speculations that could cause unnecessary public concern and urged them to allow investigations to proceed.
