Let cops investigate video, no need for Azmin to resign, says Zuraida

PUTRAJAYA: PKR leaders and members should allow the police to investigate the sex video said to feature Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, instead of asking him to take leave or resign, says PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin.

She said this would be a better stand.

"Why don't we let the police investigate and wait for the outcome?

"I believe this is a wiser move, " she told reporters here Wednesday (June 19).

Zuraida was responding to calls made by several party members for Azmin, who is PKR deputy president and Economic Affairs Minister, to resign or go on leave.

In the past week, clips of the video involving two men have gone viral, followed by a confession by Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, the Santubong PKR Youth chief, that he was one of the two men in the video.

He claimed the other person was Azmin.

Azmin has categorically denied the allegation, saying it was made to tarnish his reputation and destroy his political career.

Asked if she agreed with Azmin, who said the video implicating him was an "inside job", Zuraida said  she could not say for certain.

"I believe Azmin said this based on videos that went viral via WhatsApp. Let the police investigate," she again said.
