FANS of Mona Allen were caught by surprise when they discovered that she and Pekin Ibrahim were married on Dec 7, Harian Metro reported.
The akad nikah (solemnisation of marriage) ceremony was attended by family and close friends.
The press found out about it after several photos of the celebrity couple were posted on social media, confirming they had married.
Apparently, during the last three months that they have been married, the couple never shared information about their marriage with the media.
“We agreed not to announce it earlier until we have become husband and wife,” said Mona, 34, who acted in the Monalisa drama series.
She said that they chose to keep a low profile, but friends and relatives knew they were dating.
> Surrounded by development all around it, Kampung Padang Balang in Sentul is a traditional village which has preserved various elements of the Malay heritage, Kosmo! reported.
One of them is the kompang, the traditional musical instrument commonly used in Malay weddings.
Royizam Md Yasin, 40, who works in a shop filled with the smell of goat skin that is used to make the kompang’s membrane which produces the unique sound, is hard at work fulfilling orders from his clients.
The workshop, which was set up in 1975, produces and repairs kompang besides providing training to youths on how to play the instrument.
