KUALA LUMPUR: The money implicated in the six criminal breach of trust charges that Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah are jointly facing were "purely to meet national obligations", the former premier's counsel said.

Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said Najib did not benefit even a single sen from the amount mentioned in the six charges.
