KOTA BARU: Kelantan will seek to dissolve its state legislative assembly at the same time as Parliament, said Datuk Ahmad Yakob (pic).

The Mentri Besar said this has been a long-standing tradition for the state government.

"Yes, we will also seek dissolution for the state assembly once Parliament is dissolved," he told reporters in Medan Ilmu on Friday.

During the 13th General Election, the PAS-led state government announced the dissolution of its state assembly on April 4, 2013.

Ahmad Yakob said he would be meeting Tengku Mahkota Kelantan Tengku Dr Muhammad Faiz Petra soon after the official announcement.

In Putrajaya, the press have converged at the Prime Minister's Office where Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is chairing his last Cabinet meeting.

He is expected to address the nation live on TV1 at about 11.45am, where he will announce the dissolution of Parliament.
