Penang govt: Proposed weather alert system not illegal


GEORGE TOWN: The Penang government says its proposed alert system is a proactive step to avert losses caused by adverse weather conditions, in line with its efforts to ensure the public is well informed and prepared for future incidents.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s special legal officer Raja Syarafina Raja Shuib said it was therefore wrong for Universiti Malaya’s Prof Datuk Dr Azizan Abu Samah to argue on the legal liability of such a system.
